Yellow Fruit Nightshade is a prickly herb, which has been used in folklore and Ayurvedic medicine from ancient times. This plant belongs to the Solanaceae family, which is mostly found in Australia and Asia. In India, its plant can commonly be found in roadsides, open spaces, and waste places.
But it is highly cultivated in Australia, the Himalayas, the Polynesia region, and South-East Malaysia. The leaves are unequally paired, prickly along veins, blue-purple flowers. The fruits are a septicidal capsule that has a sweet smell, it attracts wild herbivores and livestock. The seeds in the fruits are glabrous.
